Character Name: Alya Cesaire
Fandom: Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Chat Noir
Character History:
The series Miraculous is a story of Ladybug and Chat Noir, two superheroes saving Paris from the villain Hawk Moth while returning people back to normal after being akumatized, which would grant them super powers to be used in a bad way.
Alya’s family are made up of two parents and three siblings. She is the oldest out of all of them and babysits them time to time. Two of her siblings are twins. Her mother works at a hotel which the mayor owns, as a chef. Her father is a zookeeper.
’That is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good people do nothing.’
Alya started out in a new school, the same school Marinette Dupain-Cheng also attends. She recently switched schools so she knew no one at the time. When she saw Marinette bullied by Chloe, Alya stepped up for her. She dragged Marinette back to where she sat and they became best friends. Later during the school year she became head of the school’s blog.
’Where there is a super villain, there are superheroes!’
When a villain made its first appearance, Alya was all over it; she rushed out of the classroom. From there on, Alya followed anything that lead to both villains or superhero action. Alya quickly made a blog dedicated to Ladybug and Chat Noir, the Ladyblog which was viewed in the internet. She would record videos, get interviews of people interacting with Ladybug, post her own theories, and post streams online.
One day, Alya tried to help Marinette get closer to Adrien after she learned Marinette had a crush on him. After Alya learned he was in the park for his model shoot, Alya dragged Marinette to the park. She even offered to watch over the kid Marinette was responsible for.
’I’ll expose the lies of anyone who covers it up.’
During one point in school, Alya believed Chloe was Ladybug and asked Nino to help her out. When Alya tried to take a picture of Chloe’s locker, she was caught and sent to the principal's office. Chloe played dirty to get Alya expelled, and it worked. After she fell depressed from it, she was transformed into a villain, Lady Wifi. As Lady Wifi, her power came from her cellphone and signals. She wanted to drag the truth from everyone that wrongfully accused her and find out Ladybug’s secret identity. Eventually Ladybug and Chat Noir stopped her and returned Alya to normal. Alya had no recollection to what had happened, but wanted an interview with either Ladybug or Chat Noir instead.
During Valentines Day, Alya went over to Marinette’s house to help her with her Valentine’s card to Adrien. Alya continued to give her moral support until it was time to drop it off in the mailbox.
In school, Alya once again gave Marinette support to enter a fashion contest, the derby hat competition. She stood by Marinette’s podium and waited for her best friend since she was prone to be late.
Alya’s class went on a school field trip to the luxury hotel owned by the mayor. Everyone in class were assigned to do a job within the hotel and was graded. Because the mayor was Chloe’s dad, she was assigned garbage duty, which ticked her off. In the end, she was rewarded along with Marinette, Adrien, and Nino to go see a live concert of Jagged Stone.
One day Alya came to help Marinette invite Adrien to the movies. Alya already had Adrien’s phone number and gave the number to Marinette. After Marinette goofed up, left a long message how she felt without realizing it, Alya had to leave to cover the Ladyblog on the statue dedicated to Ladybug and Chat Noir. Later Alya came back to Marinette’s house to find out Marinette stole Adrien’s phone. Alya helped her delete the message. Next day, Alya helped Marinette to get them both invited to see a movie with Adrien and Nino.
During Adrien’s birthday, Alya tried to encourage Marinette once again to get her to deliver a present to Adrien. Alya stuck with Marinette until they made it to Adrien’s mansion. She was later seen in Adrien’s party that the Bubbler, a supervillain, put together. Alya encouraged Marinette again to put a note on her present so he would know it came from Marinette.
At the zoo, Alya was on the radio giving Marinette tips for her date with Adrien, which turned out to be Nino instead. During the interaction, the zoo was attacked by a villain. In the end, Ladybug locked both Nino and Alya in a cage for safety. During that time, they talked a lot and grew to like each other more. They left the zoo together as a couple.
During class representative day, it was time to vote the next class rep. Alya once again encouraged Marinette to go for it since Alya was busy with both school’s and Ladybug’s blog. Later on the day, Alya phoned Marinette warning her Chloe was trying to buy out votes with Jagged Stone Cd’s. Being a good friend, she also snagged another Cd for Marinette, which Marinette kindly declined. Alya was also part of the Darkblade incident when they had to barricade themselves in the building until it was over. Next day, Marinette was elected class rep and assigned Alya as Class deputy.
While chasing down Ladybug, Alya found a school textbook Ladybug dropped. Alya was excited to find it, and researched more about the textbook. She found out the textbook was a tenth grade, and it was available only at her school. With this in mind, she knew it had to be someone from her school. Marinette tried to explain Alya had it all wrong, and would prove it at the Egyptian exhibit. During their stay, the Pharaoh, another villain, showed up and took Alya away. Alya learned she was about to be sacrificed, while filming along the way. She also learned that Ladybug was a thousand years old and was seen in hieroglyphs . Ladybug was able to save Alya from danger in the end. After the fight was over, Alya was missing the textbook she found. She also questioned to why Ladybug had it even though she was probably a thousand years old.
During a weekend, Alya called Marinette and reminder her to bring the sign Marinette made for Alix and Kim’s race. Alya filmed the race and was given a pocket watch to hold for Alix. Alya couldn’t hold it since she was filming, so she passed it to Marinette. Marinette couldn’t hold it and it went to Adrien. Then Chloe came in and snatched it, and then it fell on the floor for Alix to run over with her roller blades. Alya was blamed for it being destroyed regardless, along with everyone else. That was when Alix turned villain, Timebreaker. Alya was touched by Timebreaker while filming and disappeared from the present. She would reappear again in another present after Timebreaker used her ability to go back in time. In the new present, Alya was warned by Ladybug to run for cover.
During the week, the class had permission from the principal to film a horror movie in their class. Alya was the writer along with Nino. Alya got furious when she found out Nino altered the script to have the main character kiss Adrien, which also made Marinette upset. Alya backed Marinette up to make sure Chloe wasn’t going to do it. In the end, their horror movie turned out to be real thanks to yet another villain, Horrificator.
Alya met up with Marinette to see the movies together. On their way, Alya transformed back to Lady Wifi thanks to Puppeteer, a child villain. Alya was unaware of what was happening at the time while being controlled. She didn’t regain control of herself until Ladybug did the cure.
During Christmas, Alya helped search for Adrien after she was informed he was kidnapped. Once she heard he was back home, she returned to her family for the remaining holiday. Alya was filming at the time when Ladybug and Chat Noir were taking care of a super villain.
Character Personality:
Alya is an energetic, passionate and loyal person. When there is a scoop or scene about Ladybug, this girl is all over it. She would ride her bike for miles to chase her story or get at least a video of the action. She keeps up with her blog, stories she would post in the internet, about it and is very dedicated. Alya will go as far as to follow the superheroes or villains when given the chance. She gets excited easily every time there is an attack in Paris.
Because of her tendency to follow them around, Alya will sometimes find herself in a tight situation or happen to lend a hand. In Ladybug and Chat Noir’s origin, Alya was able to lend a hand to stop Stoneheart. She was on the sideline filming at the time when Ladybug called for her. Alya followed Ladybug’s instructions to help distract Stoneheart. Then later on, Alya was followed Stoneheart again. Stoneheart attacked Chat Noir with a car but Alya was in the way. She was found pinned against a wall by a car, which put her in a tight situation. Alya isn’t afraid to get close to the action, which makes her reckless most of the time.
She’s also pushy when it comes to finding out Ladybug’s identity, like a never ending determination. When she was Lady Wifi, Alya was determined to expose the truth about Ladybug’s identity. When she thought Chloe was Ladybug, Alya pursued her theory, enough to get her into trouble with the school. Finally, she found a textbook that she believed belonged to Ladybug. Alya done enough research to find out which school it belonged to and tried to narrow it down from there.
She can also be energetic at times when it comes to helping her best friends, like Marinette. Alya will go as far as she can to help her best friend with her love interest, which shows how encouraging, supportive, and sometimes a little pushy, she is. For example, she would give a friendly push to help her best friend to go out in the open and in front of her love interest.
Alya isn’t afraid to chime into conversations, especially if it would help her best friend. Alya is not afraid to speak up for herself, or for someone else and she has done it a several times.
Anyone who picked on her friends really ticked Alya off. Alya would speak up for the person if anything, and sometimes escort them away from the trouble. Alya would stand her ground for what is right. When Chloe pushed the principal to expel Alya, Alya spoke up and was furious when the Principal complied. People like Chloe would get their way all the time which ticked Alya off. She also disliked when Marinette tried to set a date with Nino, yelling over the radio to her. She made herself clear she was against the idea and plead Marinette to stop it. Every time Marinette pushed the idea, Alya refused multiple times as she tried hard not to raise her voice.
Alya has a knack for predicting her friends’ action, mostly Marinette. When she recorded an interview with Ladybug on her phone, she showed the video to Marinette. Marinette accidently deleted it later and was afraid to tell her right away. It was later in the evening when Marinette finally confessed to Alya. Alya laughed and said she already uploaded it to the blog. She had an idea Marinette might do something like that.
When Alya dragged Marinette to the park, Marinette was also watching a kid at the time. Alya agreed to watch the kid so it would give her a chance to talk to Adrien. Alya is natural with children. She could easily sweep them off their feet and drive them with imaginations, anything to keep them busy. Alya grew up in a house with younger siblings, it was easy for her to handle them. Alya would act over dramatic, pretend she was a magical unicorn, to calm and control the kids.

After almost a week in Nautilus, Alya had her own routine. If there were any kids living by themselves, she would had breakfast or dinner prepared for them. It was sometime late in the evening, and that's what she was doing. It also helped pass the time so she wasn't staring at her phone all day. New world with more super heroes and villains, she didn't want to pass any opportunity. If only it had a notification setting, like a real phone. Alya would glance over at her phone time to time. Long as a post didn't caught her interest, she would set the phone aside. Every time she let out a shrug, disappointed when nothing came up. At the same time, it was good sign. It meant no one caused trouble, if anything.
As she tried to brush off the idea of any activity over the network, Alya was cooking. Her mom was a head chef back home, and Alya had helped around the kitchen of her own home to feed the small mouths of her younger siblings, and her father too. Alya doesn’t plan on turning someone down for free food, especially children. She decided to go with something simple, a french dish with rolls to the side. Once she was done, she set the food on the counter with clean dishes and silverware on the sideline. She glanced back at her phone again, and still nothing. This was about to turn into a habit for a while, least until she was finally settled. With the phone back in her pocket, Alya poked her head out of the kitchen and gave a yell, "hey hungry peeps! If your stomachs are growling, the kitchen is smelling good again!"
She taken a deep breath as she retrieved her head back into the kitchen. When she heard the doors followed by people, Alya spoke again, "kids on their own eat first, and kids, try not to be greedy." Alya knelled down to one of the kid's level and spoke childishly as she poked their stomach, "just enough to fill that stomach, okay?"
